@liannelahavas at her last show at the social.
I took Mr Tree along as a surprise.
We got there on time, and me being me, I made sure we stood at the front.. Mr Tree decided that he would head to the bar, unfortunately this was a few moments before Lianne came on stage. The place was packed. As he isn’t as, shall we say ‘forceful’ as I am, he refused to push his way back to the front… Great.. I stood at the front and listened to happy and sad love songs on my ones.. How romantic.
This was ok though, my friend was on stage.
I have a few friends that are incredible at what they do and are destined for great things. I watched Lianne sing her songs and realised that along with a few others in the room, I knew where theses songs had come from, why they were written and what they personally meant.
To most in that crowd, they are amazingly written and performed songs, that help them symphsizes with there own personal and romantic struggles and achievements.
But to me its my friend on stage poring her heart out.
Its a strange feeling..
I thought about my pictures and as I post them here and others reblog and <3 them because of the colours or the feelings they evoke.
Which is great but the people in the pictures. The friends and family on the outskirts of my lens, the ones behind me while I took aim and clicked, look at them and further more connect with me as I do with them. How wonderful. After all isn’t the main goal to get on better with the people you have picked to be apart of your life?
I think thats what your art should be for, or at least what mine is for.
It needs to first of all encourage respect and remember the closest ones to you..
Everything after, appreciation from strangers and the rest of it should always be an extra.. and if not thats fine..
I was only ever trying to remember and immortalise the people around me that supported me when I was down, when I didn’t have a tenner to my name.
